Monitoring Essentials The measurement of how energy flows is essential, not only for the companies providing the source of energy but to us as consumers of energy. There are standards and controls throughout our (critical) infrastructure to maintain the balance of how we consume the energy vs. the energy provided to the infrastructure. To this extent we carefully monitor any fluctuations, disturbances, outages, surges – be it benign or critical from either internal or external threats to give the ability to respond and mitigate. In essence, if energy stops flowing, we can’t operate – does this not apply to our IT infrastructure as well?
