This presentation highlights the human factor in cyber security from a social-psychological perspective: What can psychology teach us about making your employees resilient against cyber threats? Social hacking is getting more and more ingenious; badly formulated e-mails from a Nigerian prince belong to the past. This also requires a better defense of the people side. Sending knowledge no longer suffices, because criminals are flawlessly able to make use of people’s emotions, stress, etc. Insights from psychology show how human behavior is composed and which buttons can be tweaked or turned if we want to make people more cyber resilient.
