Quantum computers will break current cryptosystems and mitigation measures have to be implemented now to be prepared in time.

In the presentation I will review quantum-safe encryption methods and in particular describe in detail quantum key distribution (QKD) which offers future-proof security. QKD is currently being implemented in a pilot network between government entities in Copenhagen and is expected to be operational by end of 2024.
