The Keynote Session last week at RSA Conference with the Office of the National Cyber Director, The White House Director Harry Coker was an important and impactful one. With former DNI Principal Deputy Director Sue Gordon, the Director laid out his vision and critical actions items he will be undertaking with his team. Two critical documents were also released- that are a "must read" incl. the 2024 Report on the Cyber Posture of the United States and the second National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan. It was terrific to see Kemba Walden, Acting National Cyber Director and now President, Paladin Capital Group Global Institute, former Congressman Jim Langevin and the NCD team! Kudos to all who worked on the report: Drenan Dudley Nick Leiserson Julie Klein Brian Scott Seeyew Mo Jennifer Berlin Mary Hanley Caroline Chang Charlotte Bradsher and many more! Here are the Top 5 Reasons everyone should read these reports: 1. The Cyber Posture Report is a first-of-its-kind report that focuses on the “vision of a defensible, resilient and values-aligned digital ecosystem. It lays out the 5 top risks and 12 actions to address them. The risks include: Evolving threats to critical infrastructure; ransomware; supply chain exploitation; commercial spyware and AI. 2. The Ntl. Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan (Plan) was the first-of-its kind as well. It laid out mandates and missions with agency leads. 2.0 provides updates and progress for each and every agency. 3. The Plan updates and focuses on key aspects of CI who need the most help right now: healthcare; education; and water/wastewater. 4. It tells you exactly the state of play for each agency and who is leading on which action item. It adds new mission critical action items. 5. It’s a one-stop-shop for all things cyber and now includes the cyber education and workforce plan. #criticalinfrastructure #nationalsecurity #nationalcybersecurityplan #cybersecurityposture Van Scoyoc Associates
