2023 was a year of many firsts in Aeven. Among them, we conducted the very first report on our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 🌍   Apart from improving the quality of our performance, we wanted to start off with a solid base for our reporting to reflect our ambition to be mindful of people and surroundings. Our focus has been to make a foundation for managing our emissions and reductions, as well as keeping a high standard for reporting our data. The reporting covers all our locations in Denmark, the Philippines, and Czech Republic.       Developing a full GHG emissions inventory – covering all three scopes– enables us to better understand our emissions impact across the value chain, while shedding light on the specific areas where we can have the greatest emissions reduction impact.      Curious to know more about the results? Happy World Environment Day 🌍 Our Czech colleagues recently gathered with their families for a fun day in a forest near Prague. They planted hundreds of trees and learned more about ecology and sustainability.   As a supplier of digital infrastructure, we are committed to making a difference beyond our business. ✨ Human rights, environmental sustainability, economic sustainability ✨ In May, we conducted impact assessment for our activities in the Philippines. This means we now have a full overview of our risks of adversely impacting our surroundings in social, environmental and economic areas.    Implementing the OECD - OCDE and United Nations Global Compact standards for Responsible Business Conduct is something we’ve been focusing on since the beginning of Aeven. Back in August 2023, we conducted our overall assessment, and now we are proud to say that our Philippine operations are also onboarded.    Our risk of adversely impacting the 48 human rights areas, 20 environmental areas, and 16 economic areas in the standard was discussed thoroughly, and we now have a list of actions to mitigate our potential risks. Because the conclusion is that our Philippine colleagues manage their risks very well and conduct responsible business on all areas.     Communications & Sustainability Director, Sara V. Løppenthin Stendevad, says:    “Practicing responsible business conduct in a developing country differs a lot from the way we work with our responsibility in Denmark. But in Aeven, we’re lucky to have dedicated colleagues who are willing to push forward wherever possible. Aeven is proud to be a member of the newly formed AI alliance, Dansk Sprogmodel Konsortiet (Danish Language Model Consortium).   The purpose of the consortium is to foster a trust-based and responsible approach to AI, aiming to support democracy, cohesion, and competitiveness focusing on the Danish market. We’re proud to contribute to this initiative, ensuring the development of reliable language models based on principles of transparency, copyright compliance, and other ethical considerations regarding responsible use of AI.   Our CEO, Henrik Bodskov, says:   “In Aeven we have an ambitious approach to AI and for many of our customers, we see numerous opportunities to implement AI to optimize their businesses. We do, however, need to be equally responsible in our approach. Recently we had the pleasure of welcoming almost 30 students from Sølvgadeskole to our headquarters. The visit marked the culmination of our annual collaboration with Coding Class Cph, an initiative that aims at equipping the future generation with coding as a problem-solving skill.    Prior to the visit, our colleagues Josephine Nathalie Wärme and Laura Nybroe Dampe presented the students with a real-life case, making them consider how we can enhance teamwork, focus time, and online meetings in our workspaces in Aeven. This resulted in many innovative proposals, and we were very impressed by the students’ coding skills, reflections, and presentations of their creative ideas.     The students also got to meet our talented colleagues Marie Thyrgaard Jensen, Christian Pedersen, and Lasse Lanng Pedersen to give them a small glimpse into the diverse skills sets needed for a company like ours to succeed.     We hope some of the students have found an interest in IT and coding. Who knows? Perhaps one day we’ll meet some of them again as colleagues.

Our Chief Delivery Officer, Mads Jakobsen, is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sentia. Since Sentia became part of Aeven Group, Mads has served as Integration Officer and is now looking forward to bringing his experience into play as executive leader in Sentia: "I'm incredibly pleased to be entrusted with the role as CEO in Sentia. After a number of years of mergers and divestitures, it is my assessment that we in Sentia must now focus on stable operations and growth. I'm very much looking forward to beginning this work together with my new colleagues," says Mads Jakobsen. Lotte Østergaard, who is a familiar face in Aeven and to many of our customers, will join Aeven's Executive Leadership Team as Chief Delivery Officer and thus represent Aeven's customers in the management group. “The close relationship with our customers is part of Aeven's DNA and has been from the beginning. The direct dialogue is extremely important in the work with digital infrastructure, because stable and secure operations are absolutely essential in a world that is developing at a rapid pace. I am very pleased that I will now represent the overall customer landscape in the Executive Leadership Team and look forward to continuing the collaboration with customers as well as colleagues," says Lotte Østergaard, Chief Delivery Officer in Aeven.
