Why does cyber crime still pay?
Description

Why is it still possible to profit from cyber crime? Why are people even considering cyber crime when they know the penalties and when the impact can be disastrous for not just them but also their victims. Why are governments and law enforcement not able to find out who the real criminals are and what about hacking back? And why haven't we changed our ways of working and living in light of the last decade of compromises and disruptions - and should we even bother? This and other questions will be answered in an informative presentation about what eco-systems drive cyber crime, how cyber attacks are not operating on a level playing field and what to focus on in the future. About the speaker: Tom Van de Wiele is Principal Technology & Threats Researcher at WithSecure with 20 years of experience in cyber security.
